Effective 17 July 2026
Privacy Policy
Mathique is a maths practice app for children aged 7โ11, managed entirely by their parents. This page explains โ in plain language โ what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
The short version
- Parents create and control everything; children only play.
- We collect the minimum needed to run the app: your email, and for each child a first name, a username, a school year and their exercise progress.
- No advertising, no tracking, no third-party analytics.
- We never sell or share your data.
- You can permanently delete a child, or your whole account and all of its data, yourself at any time.
Who we are
Mathique is made by Pandakoo Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at support@mathique.app.
What we collect
| Data | Who provides it | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address and password | You (the parent), at sign-up | To create and secure your parent account |
| Child's first name, username and school year | You (the parent), when adding a child | To greet the child in the app and show the right year's adventure |
| Exercise progress (answers right or wrong, attempts, time spent, coins earned) | Generated as the child plays | To save their place in the story and power your progress reports |
That is the whole list. Children are never asked to enter personal information โ their profile is created and managed by you.
What we don't do
- No advertising of any kind, and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the children's app.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data with third parties.
- No contact with children โ all communication goes to parents.
- No precise location, no contacts, no photos, no microphone โ the app doesn't request them.
Where your data lives
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), part of Google Cloud, which processes it on our behalf under Google's data processing terms. Connections are encrypted in transit, and data is encrypted at rest.
Legal bases
Under UK GDPR we process account data because it is necessary to provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract), and progress data on the same basis โ it is the product. A child's profile exists only because their parent created it, which is how we obtain consent for a child's data. We follow the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code; for families in the United States, we comply with COPPA โ we do not knowingly collect personal information from children directly, and a parent can review or delete their child's information at any time as described below.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete it yourself, immediately and permanently, from the parent dashboard:
- Delete a child โ removes their profile, username and all progress.
- Delete your account (Account page) โ removes every child, all progress, your parent profile and your sign-in. Nothing is retained.
If you prefer, email us at support@mathique.app and we will do it for you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's processed. Most of this you can do directly in the parent dashboard; for anything else, email us. If you're unhappy with our answer you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email the address on your account before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
